Pathologist and Microbiologist, Dr. M Agarwal's Response
Hello. Welcome to HCM.
How much does a baby weigh depends on birthweight and also how he/ she is fed- whether breast feeding or formula feeding. Normally the baby should approximately double the birth weight by four months of age, though it will be slightly more for most well fed babies.
An infant's total WBC count is slightly more than adult (maximum limit of which is 11000/ cu.mm). So a count of 12500 will be normal in baby but not in adult. At 14000, yes, the counts indiacte mild infection, but it will be well controlled with control of infection. So please use your probiotics or antibiotics as suggested by pediatrician. if baby is fine and active, after 4-5 days, you need not worry.
hope this helps.
