Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Drugs like this taken for long time can cause severe bone weakness. This condition require her to treat by either an orthopaedic or an endocrine specialist.
IF would be her treating doctor, i would like her to start Calcium, vitamin d3 and alendronate. She should also do some morning walk if possible because weight bearing also promote bone mineralisation. Milk, egg and chicken are typical food rich in calcium,so she should take more of these in her food.
