What Time Lapse Is Needed For Diagnosing Chlamydia And Gonorrhea?

Hello, I am male and had unprotected anal sex with another male who said he was on PREP but I was not able to confirm that. It happened on the 21st of this month. I had the following tests performed today and will be waiting for the results. Can you tell me if I did these tests too early or has enough time elapsed to detect HIV? Also, how confident can I feel if it is negative? Is there still a possibility the following tests wouldn t detect it? 498 Hepatitis B Surface Antigen 8472 HCV Ab Immunoassay 6447 HSV I/ II IgG 36126 RPR W Reflex To Titer & Confirmation Testing 11363 Chlamydia & Gonorrhea RNA, TMA 16185 HIV 1 RNA, QL TMA 91431 HIV-1/2 Antibody - 4th Generation

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

HIV 1, 2 test or 4th generation test should be done at least 4 weeks after possible exposure. You can do another test 4 weeks after it.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
