What To Do After Taking Ipill Post Sex And Having Missed A Period For More Than A Month?

One of my friend had ipill 3/4 times after having unprotected sex each time and not having period since then. It's been a around one and half month. Now what is she supposed to do ?

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.

The i pill can be taken within 72 hours of intercourse and it will give protection. But failure rate is seen in 1% of women using these pill. 1 or 2 i pill in a cycle are effective in providing contraception, more than two pill in a cycle fail to provide protection.

My suggestion is to rule out pregnancy first with urine pregnancy test. If test comes out to be negative delayed period could be due to hormonal disturbances from i pill. Wait for few more days for her period to start. If not consult doctor for examination and prescription of medication.

But please remember that i pill is emergency contraceptive pill only and it should not be used as regular contraceptive method.
it can cause side effects like nausea, menstrual irregularities etc with repeated use.

so you better choose some other regular contraceptive method in future.
