Hi, thanks for posting your concern in the HCM.
I think you have got lower
respiratory tract infection or pneumonia.
This can be serious if prompt management is not done. Therefore, you should immediately consult a chest physicians for further evaluation and treatment.
I usually give following advice to my patients with pneumonia, without any complication-
Blood test for
complete blood count, urea, creatinine, electrolytes, CRP
Sputum for gram stain and AFB
Chest Xray PA
Tab
Paracetamol 500 mg SOS for fever, min. 6 hr interval between 2 doses
Tab Co-amoxyclav 625 mg twice daily for 5 days after sending sputum for examination.
Depending upon how complicated your disease is, you may need hospitalization and intravenous antibiotics.
Further medications may be needed depending upon the symptoms.
For cough, Syr Ambroxol 2 tar twice daily for 3 days.
Bronchdilators may be needed if there is severe
shortness of breath and spasm.
You should also start having steam inhalation twice daily.
But, please consult your local chest physician at the earliest.
For any further questions, please write back.
Regards,
Dr. Kaushik
