What To Do For Acidity And Heartburn?
I am suffering from Acidity and heartburn from 40 years back. Some it is Ok and some time I am facing lot of problems. Dr. suggest me take Ganatom OD for one month, than I was Ok nearly one year. Now I am facing ths problems, usually I take Ganaton Total one weak and close the dose. My quotions is What should I do.

Hi,
Ganaton OD contains Itopride which is a regulator of motility.
It is working in your case for acidity and heartburn hence the way you are taking is fine and acceptable.
Since you have repeated problems of acidity and heartburn this indicates that you have GERD that is Gastro-esophageal reflux disease.
This can be investigated by an Upper GI Endoscopy and barium studies for esophagus, stomach and small intestine to know the exact cause.
There may be gastritis, lax lower esophageal sphincter, bile gastritis and reflux or hiatus hernia.
Once diagnosed well the medical part can be treated well with a PPI like Pantoprazole and antacids.
Also needed is to control the stress and anxiety.
Have soft bland diet in small and frequent ways.
If there is hiatus hernia or so you may need surgery.
