I suffer from anxiety,,,,and it is because I anguish over what could have been with mine and my brother s lives had our parents been different...I see his life is so messed up and his kids too...I cannot get this out of my head...and try to fix it....how can I stop worrying about it? he is still stuck in a bad situation, I moved years ago and realized how dysfunctional it is. I need some help

You care about your brother this is a good thing but that shouldn't become problem in your functioning. Some times excessive worries get transformed into depressive and anxiety symptoms so try to control your worries. I would suggest you to try relaxation exercises like Breathing exercises, yoga to keep yourself relaxed and to keep anxiety away. Behaviour therapy can be one modality to control these unwanted worries.
If worries and anxiety persist even after controlling thoughts and psychological methods then visit a psychiatrist for help. If after evaluation you are diagnosed with anxiety disorder then there is need for medicines. Medicines like SSRIs as Fluoxetine, Paroxetine can help to reduce the anxiety and you will feel better. Visit a psychiatrist for evaluation and prescription of the drugs.
