What To Do For Narrowing Of The Bilateral Neural Foramina
i m a 57 year old women w/lumbar spine problems..what i want to know is the narrowing of the bilateral neural foramina...first what is this? and what is it s purpose? and if it were to continue in the direction of narrowing like thy say what do I have to look forward to...toni giardina why does this keep earsing
The bilateral neural foramina narrowing means that there is compression of the nerve roots upon leaving the spinal canal, by a bulging intervertebral disc. This can lead to radicular nerve pain in the region where this nerve travels (maybe both lower limbs), which is triggered by sitting or standing up position. If the pain is not relieved by painkillers, I would recommend consulting with a spinal surgeon for surgery as a possible treatment option. Hope you will find this answer helpful! Best wishes, Dr. Aida
