What To Do For Tsh Level 14?

i have been taking thyroxine 50 mg ,i have ibs problem too and i lost 4 kg of weight . i was 47 and it is reduced to 43kg
my doctor asked me stop taking thyroxine . then i gained weight and it again became 47. i am 65year old . now my tsh level is 14 . what should i do now

I read your query and understood your concern.
The TSH level you reported is high and should be treated in order to prevent future cardiovascular events.
The weight is not a criteria for monitoring the thyroid function. You may start with a lower dose (25 mcg) and check the TSH after 6 weeks.
