What To Do If A Child Drank Milk Out Of A Bottle With Clotted Milk Stuck In It?
Hello! I just discovered that the bottle that I was giving my daughter a little bit under two hours ago is full of clotted nasty looking milk. Could it have gone bad in the last hour and a half to two hours or did I give her nasty milk? Should I expect her to be vomiting all night, is it potentially more serious, or less? Thank you.
It is quite possible that the milk clotted in the time subsequent to receiving the milk. You would have likely noticed the presence of the clots in the bottle when you were feeding her if they were there at this time.
If it is then she used milk that was not good , however, it is likely that she will start to vomit and may also have diarrhoea. If this occurs, the most important aspect of treatment is ensuring that she does not become dehydrated.
You would need to consider the use of oral rehydration solutions that would not only replace her fluids but any electrolytes. You would also have to monitor for any indications of dehydration- decreased urination, dry skin, decreased tears, increased heart rate.
