What To Do If Gaining Weight After Taking Natco 30 Instead Of Mylan 8030 Prescribed Earlier For GERD?

I was on Mylan 8030 for Gurd with no side effects. The pharmacy changed their supplier to Natco 30 which makes me very hungry and eat 2x as much, since being prescribed and now continually gain weight, which is counter intuitive to working out and watching what I eat. I have spoken to other people on the same Natco 30 said they have the same effect on them. Called my insurance company and they said it would be 2 dollars more per pill to get the Mylan 8030. Which does not make sense considering they were paying for it before at the generic rate. What can I do? I want the Mylan?

Hi
Thanks for posting your query on HCM
I have read and understood your concern
Natco 30 and mylan 8030 are all Lansoprazole delayed release 30 mg. Since you may not have access to mylan for now, i will suggest you continue with natco 30 since they all produce same results and adopt more of physical/lifestyle measures to fight weight gain.Possible measures may include:
-Cut Back on Sugars and Starches
-Eat Protein, Fat and Vegetables and moderately
-Eat in small quantities and when hungry
-Regular fitness exercises
-Get enough rest and avoid stress
If you continue to gain weight, you see a nutritionist for better evaluation and weight check
Hope this will help. You may write back if more concerns
Best regards
