What To Do If Gastroenterologist Advises To Stop Ecospirin And Cardiologist Is Reluctant?

Non medicated stent was installed in main artery in the year 2002. I am now 63 yrs. I have contacted ugi ulcer and having bleeding (malena ). Gold probe prceedure in ugi performed and bleeding has since been stoped. Gastroentrologist advised stoping ecosprin subject to concurrence of Cardiologist who in turn reluctant to stop ecosprin. Please advise.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is a double-edged sword. If the bleeding is severe better to stop the ecospirin for few days. However, once the bleeding is settled, it can be restarted.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
