What To Do If Having Elevated Liver Enzymes, Dark Urine, Nausea After Taking Disclofenac?
I was taking disclofenac sod 75 for over a month. Recent blood test showed elevated liver enzyymes. My doctor told me on April 23, 2014 to stop taking disclosfenac, drink no alcohol and no Tylonol. We are going to retest the liver enzymes on May 7th. I also take Benicar, which I m still taking. Over the last few days, I notice that my urine is darker than usual in color, sometimes deep yellow or orangey. I am drinking loads of water and it does lighten up, but never gets completely clear. On 4/24/14 I submitted a urine (due to burning in the uretha) and I m waiting for results. Yesterday and today, I am experience nausea.
Based on the history given you seem to be suffering from inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) caused by the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) Diclofenac. Hepatitis usually resolves completely after stopping the drug. The elevated liver enzymes and the dark colored urine will be resolved after two months, and all liver tests were normal four months after onset.
Kindly consult your physician for further evaluation and to do certain lab tests including Liver function tests, Abdominal ultrasound scan, Urine analysis to ascertain the severity of the liver injury.
Continue taking Benicar which seems to be prescribed for high BP. Hope this answers your query.
