What To Do If Having Fibroid In Uterus And Prolonged Periods?

I have a fibroid in my uterus 10cmx10cm. I m 46 years old. My cycle is regular but lasts for 14 days. The second day is the heaviest but gets normal till the 7th day. From the eighth till the 14th I have very light spotting. I was prescribed Primolut N, Daflon and Dycinon to make my cycle stop. Please advise.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Fibroids is the source of bleeding and it has to be addressed.
As first-line management, you can take drugs like tranexamic acid for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist better to go for hysterectomy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
