What Treatment Is Suggested For Diarrhea?

Hi there, i ve been having to go to the toilet 4-5 times an hour with not diarrhea but not a proper bowel movement either. I feel like i need to poo but whenever i get to the toilet nothing happens. When it does happen it s black / really really dark brown. I can t see any blood either. I ve been drinking Coke but thats all ive had since it started. Eating didn t do anything except make it worse. If it helps i have pancreatitis and gallstones if that effects anything.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of a known case of pancreatitis and gall stones, gets feeling of motion 4-5 times in a day but nothing actually comes out after sitting on the toilet seat, if at all black/really dark brown feces are passed, there is feeling of incomplete evaluation. taking coke since then as the foods increase the problems.
As per the history you have provided this looks to be procto-colitis that is inflammation of the colon and the rectum.
I would advise you teh following in such a situation:
Send the stool for routine tests including occult blood.
Tests of blood and urine,
Ultrasound of the abdomen.
A course of an antibiotic and metronidazole along with probiotics and activated charcoal.
If there is complete relief well and good.
If there is no result then you may need an upper GI Endoscopy and colonoscopy and an opinion of a Gastroenterologist for clinical evaluation, examination and proper management.

Also get a proper treatment for gall stones, cholecystectomy at an appropriate time and of pancreatitis.
I find this answer helpful
