What Treatment Is Suggested For Lump Near The Thyroid?

On routine exam, the doctor found a lump near my 14-year old's thyroid. Recommended a CBC and Thyroid panel. However, my son is deathly afraid of needles, and has resisted all attempts (three times over three weeks) to draw a blood sample.

Any recommendations? thanks

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question.
I can understand your concern.

He has lump near thyroid gland.

He should go for T3, T4 and TSH level. It is basic test to search for hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism.

He should also go for ultrasound neck. It will give some idea regarding lesion whether it is cytic nodule or adenoma or some other pathology. Then plan accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic.
Wish you very good health.
