What Treatment Should I Undergo To Treat Fibroids?

HI, I m 52years old. I have been experiencing very heavy bleeding with clotting. Last month I had some sort of bleeding for 3 weeks. I have been told that I am in menopause (blood work). I had a negative uterine biopsy and had an ultrasound that revealed that I had 6 fibroids (largest 3cm). What kind of treatment would you recommend????

Hello,
Since you are around menopause, if the symptoms were not so severe, observation would usually be advised, as fibroids regress after menopause. This is not so in your case. In such a situation, the best form of treatment would be to undergo a hysterectomy, through medical or surgical means. Ablation of blood supply to the fibroids also may be tried if possible and under expert hands. Also, your general condition should be improved, any anemia corrected and levels maintained. Hope this helps.
