What Type Of Doctor Should I See For Severe Pain And Burning Sensation In The Toe?

Recently starting to have severe pain in my 4th toe on my right foot. Comes on suddenly, feels like burning and thumping and also that toe feels like it s swollen and numb, (but it s not swollen). After a while, pain goes away. I am on my feet constantly through out the day being a housekeeper at a senior citizens retirement home walking about 21,000 steps every day. What type of Dr. should I see, Medical or Podiatrist? Thank you.
