Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi...by what you quote I feel your kid is having a upper respiratory infection or laryngitis. That's why the kid is losing voice too. Because of upper respiratory inflammation the kid is finding it difficult to swallow.

I suggest -
1. Rapid streptococcal antigen test. If its positive - go ahead with antibiotics - Amoxycillin for 10 days.

2. If it's negative - do a throat swab cultures and start antibiotics... If culture is negative stop antibiotics. If positive continue antibiotics for 10 days.

3. Treat fever and pain with oral Paracetamol.

Regards - Dr. Sumanth
