What Will Be The After Effect By Stopping Budesonide?

Hi, my mom takes budesonide in a nebulizer for her COPD, what are the side effects if she were to completely stop using the medication for 3 or more days? she recently went to the hospital with angioneurotic edema and a high white blood cell count after not having her copd rx for about 4 days. thank you

Budesonide is a steroid. Steroids when used over long term shouldn't be stopped abruptly. The disease may return back with more vengeance. Or there may also be withdrawal symptoms and sometimes an acute crisis can occur due to suppression of adrenal axis.
