What Will Be The Prognosis Of Pneumonia After Stroke?

my mother suffered a stroke on July 17th. It only affected her speech. She is doing very well with therapy. The only new problem now is that she has CHF and has developed pneumonia along with it. She is receiving IV antibiiotics for the pnemonia for the next four days. She is 87 and she has suffered with this before. Do you have any idea what her prognosis might be.? I know that is hard to guess at here but she is otherwise healthy. Should I be preparing for the worst. Very worried. Thank you.

I have noted your mother's clinical details. I can understand your anxiety, however, I would like to reassure you that there are very good chances of her complete recovery.

As you have mentioned, she is recovering well from the stroke, and it seems to be a minor stroke affecting only her speech.

For pneumonia, she is on appropriate antibiotics, which would lead to complete resolution in most cases.

So, we can expect a good outcome here.
