What Would Cause Onset Of Tongue And Lymph Gland Swelling?

What would cause onset of tongue and lymph gland swelling? 50 mg of Benedryl reduced most of swelling. The only med I took yesterday was 800 mg of Advil for muscle aches from yardwork. I had same symptoms a month ago and went to ER blood tests ok got Benedryl epipine med and script for medral dose pack. I'm thinking it's got to be an environmental reaction. At ER CT scan revealed a small lypoma it the throat. Dr suspects it to be a fatty tumor.

Hi..
Thanks for the query..

Well, your symptoms are appearing to be most probably an allergic reaction and as the swelling reduced with benadryl that is a anti-allergic swelling it further confirms that it is allergic..

So my suggestion is to get an allergic test done to rule out the exact cause of the reaction..

Once the allergen is ruled out, you can avoid getting exposed to the allergen so that you can avoid recurring reactions..

Also taking anti allergens will resolve the symptoms but if there are recurrences you can talk about Immunotherapy to your Physician/ Allergist..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
