What Would Cause Painful Chafing On Testicles For A Child ?

What would cause painful chafing on my 4 year old son's testicles? I've been applying petroleum jelly and also diaper rash cream but nothing is helping. He cries out that "his pee pee hurts him"... The skin is dry and cracked, almost reminds me of the feeling of the bottom of feet

Hi

Is the chaffing seen on the scrotum or tip of penis?
It is only when the tip of penis is involved, inflammation of the tip of urethra can happen and it will result in pain while passing urine.

It might be because of constant usage of diaper or constant fiddling with the genitals or forceful retraction of the foreskin of the penis.

Since you have tried with basic creams, please have him checked by a Pediatrician. Might be there is some infection. In such a case he will need antibiotic ointment.

In the mean time give him plenty of fluids.
