What's Causing Left Side Pain On Sneezing Which Is Ok On Taking Deep Breath In A Smoker Who Just Gt Over Bronchitis And Pneumonia?

Hi,
I have recently gotten over bronchitis and the start of pneumonia. I have had a pain on my left side only when I sneeze and sometimes cough. It feels like my lung but it could be a torn muscle between the rib and chest wall from what I have read. I am a smoker. It doesn't hurt when I take a deep breath or cough. I had a chest exray about 2 weeks ago and it was clear for pneumonia.

Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this pain. I will suggest that you get examined for this. It often helps to tell whether the pain is coming fro deep seated structures or can be provoked by palpation which may suggest costochodritis. Depending on the initial findings, further investigations may be carried out.

I hope this addresses your query fully. Feel free to ask for clarifications and more information if need be. I wish you well. Thanks for utilizing our services, we very much appreciate it.
