What's The Cause And Treatment Of An Itchy Bald Spot On The Head Since Child Birth?

My 4 mon old was born with a bald spot on side of head. One dermatologist said it was nevus sebaceous, but referred us out to a ped dermi. I am worried because she scratches it all the time. Doctor appointment is in a month. What can I do to control the itch until then because she is cutting her scalp scratching it. I cut her nails very often, but that doesn't help. Should I be concerned because it itches?

Hi,

As she is only 4 months old, infantile eczema should be ruled out.

You should keep the are well cleaned and dried. Try to use hypo-allergic shampoo for your baby.

You can use otc herbal anti-itching cream until you get another opinion from the pediatric-dermatologist.

Hope it helped!
