Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

I understand that you have had a tibia fracture near the knee fixed with two screws. Some swelling is expected since the joint was kept immobile. This should get better when you start to exercise the knee.

You may weight bear at 6 weeks after surgery after your doctor has confirmed with an x ray. Its important to move the knee and to try and get the normal range of movement back as soon as possible.

Hope I have answered your queries. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. George Verghese
