When Does Flu Vaccination Become Effective?

Hi I recently recieved a flu shot last week, but being a college student, I may have come in contact with students who have the flu before getting my vaccination, I was wondering if it is still possible for me to get the flu during the two week period it takes for the influenza vaccine to take full effect?

Hello,

So , there is a possibility that you can get flu before the effect of vaccine takes over. However, chances are low.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
