When Should Omeprazole Be Taken While On Levothyroxine?

When should I take daily time-release capsule omerprazole as relates to my daily levothoroxine pill to avoid any negative interaction........I also will be taking sucralfate befor meals and bedtime. I was perscribed the two gastric meds yesterday for two week to treat a possible large ulcer that could possibly perfortate!---------the plan is hopefully to safely do an endoscope after that for further information to determine how to proceed.from there.------------I ve gotten conflicting information, it seems to me........HEL Thank you

Hi,

Levothyroxine has to be taken alone, to allow for full absorption. Certain medications or supplements have to be taken many hours later. Iron is a classic supplement that has to be taken at least 4 hours later.

Omeprazole though is not as troublesome as iron and can be taken 30-60 minutes later without any concerns for decreased Levothyroxine absorption.
