When Will I Get Motions Post Surgery For Ovarian Cysts?

Hi doctor, I am 4 days post op for ovarian cysts. I have not yet had a bowel movement but I have managed to get rid of the gas caused by surgery. I have an abdominal incision. I took laxatives last night but no go. I would now like to try a fleet enema. Is this a safe and effective course of action to take at this particular time. Today I have had terrible nausea and wonder if this is caused by the constipation. thank you, Doctor.

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of surgery for ovarian cyst 4 days ago and unable to pass feces in spite of laxative and have nausea.
Yes, you can take fleet enema.
Please get X-ray of abdomen in standing position just to rule out any intestinal obstruction.
You can also use dulcolax suppositions as it also help.
Ambulation if allowed by your Doctor.
Full diet if no obstruction.
Stop Oxycodone if you are taking as it can cause constipation.
