When Will I Get Periods After Removal Of The Marena Coil ?
hi, im a 34yr old and iv just had my 2nd marena coil taken out 20/05 after having it in since 07/2010 and was just wondering how soon my periods should return as i didnt have any over the last 7yr, just the odd spotting as i am getting now, so due to haveing no period i havent a clue when its due ! as im hoping to get pregnant some time soon any info much appreciated.
Hi Amy;
welcome to HealthcareMagic
Mirena is a coil made of hormonal preparation and has timed release of hormones in your body.Normally you should get periods after a month of removal of the coil so you still have time as it was removed on 20/05/2011.Secondly you have said that you did not have normal periods and had just spotting;so please understand that such sort of irregularity or spotting during periods can be due to hormonal imbalance as well as Mirena also as it causes spotting because it is hormonal coil by itself.Now if you have to try for a baby please consult your Gynaecologist to make your periods regular and after that you will hopefully get pregnant soon.
All the best.
Thanks
