Which Is More Effective Amoung Deriva BPO Gel And BENZAC AC Gel For Oily Skin And Excessive Acne And Pimples?
hello doc. My skin is too oily from last two month there is excessive growth of acne(pimples) on my face.I am using clindamycin phosphate gel, deriva bpo gel and saliacylic face wash. Its reduced to some extent but still they are growing. Can you suggest me between Deriva BPO gel and BENZAC AC gel which is better effective?
Hello, Welcome to healthcare magic. I understand that you are having acne for which you are using the above mentioned gels. I prefer Deriva BPO gel to Benzac AC as the former contains an additional agent called Adapelene in addition to benzoyl peroxide. In my experience, this combination has shown better efficacy than plain benzoyl peroxide alone. If the acne is still nor coming under control with the above regime which you have been following, I would suggest a course of oral antibiotic like Doxycycline or Azithromycin under the supervision of a dermatologist. Drink plenty of water. Have a healthy diet and avoid foods with high glycemic index. Hope this helps you. Take care,
