Which Pain Medication To Be Used For Hernia Without Becoming Addictive?

i m an addict in recovery for years , i have a hernia , its giving me acute pain ,,,what pain medication can i use without it becoming addictive ?? my doc gave me Tradol ,,but it isn t giving me enough pain relief and i think it might be addictive ,, any help greatly appreciated ,,thanks , Sean .

Hi,

I really appreciate your concern. For the pain the best analgesic is non steroid anti-inflammatory drug lime Diclofenac and it can be used safely. You have not mentioned the type of hernia here else something better can be suggested, still the best way to tolerate the pain as long as you can till it subsides on its own and it is possible just try it, and most important is to treat the cause of pain and not the pain the it self.
