White Bumps On Buttocks, Burning Sensation On Tailbone, Green Stools. Radiation Burn?

I have white bumps in my butt crack at the top. I also have a burning sensation at the base of my spine . I just had a hida scan performed last Wednesday due to upper right pain to check gall bladder function. I had bowel movements on Saturday that were green indicating the radiation was expelled. It was in diarrhea form and I m concerned it may have splashed back on my skin. Could this be the cause of my symptoms? Can this be a form of radiation burn? I am stressed over the scan and the use of the radiation. I am concerned of impact of the radiation on my body in conjunction with other CT Scans I ve had in the past.

Hi,

I can understand your concerns over HIDA scan and the radioactive tracer that you have passed in stool.
Thre are no reported cases of radioactive HIDA scan tracer causing such a problem.
Green stool can be indicative of an intestinal infection.
And the local skin problem can be due to local skin condition like dermatitis and so on.
Hence the best way is the following:
Consult your Doctor for an actual examination and discuss further.
Get stool test done and if there is any intestinal infection get a course of an antibiotic and you will be better.
Consult a Dermatologist for the skin condition and get a proper diagnosis so that an appropriate management can be done. Brning sensation of tailbone can be due to nerve involvement or os and your Doctor can tell better on an actual examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. T Chandrakant,
