White Lump On The Underside Of Heel, Painful. What Is This Lump ?
I have a white bump on the underside of my heel, slightly to the inside. It s painful, even when I have my foot up. It s not very big, as wide across as a pen cap. I had warts on my feet when I was a kid, but I don t remember them hurting as much as this does. Otherwise, I am healthy, not on any medication currently. Female 21 years, overweight . What is this lump? What should I do about it?
Hello and welcome to HCM
A painful swelling on underside of the heel can be a 'corn'.
A corn is formed due to proliferation of upper layers of the skin. It is a harmless lesion and treatment consists of removal of the corn.
This swelling can be due to bony growth or any other soft tissue growth.
X-ray of the foot will determine whether the swelling is arising from the bone or soft tissue.
