Hello,
Welcome to HCM,
As you were prescribed steroid medicine for your symptoms it suggests me that you are having the symptoms of obstructive lung disease, which requires medicines to relieve the obstruction.

The steroid help to reduce the inflammation of the respiratory bronchioles and reduces the symptoms of obstruction. As you are prescribed both oral and inhalation of the steroids it will helps to reduce your symptoms and mak you comfortable.

The steroids should not be stopped abruptly it will have adverse effects and it will make the condition worse, so the steroid should be tapered slowly to avoid adverse effects to the patients.
Thank you.
