Why Am I Getting Cough After Taking Lisinoprill And Lotrel?

I am currently on benicar/hct 20/12.5 I am having terrible gi upset gas, bloating diarrhea. Should I call dr. to switch medication? Can I cut pill in half? I am diet controlled for diabetes since I cannot tolerate diabetic meds, either, same effects as benicar. I get the cough from ace inhibitors, was on lisinoprill and lotrel and got cough. Are there any other ace inhibitors that would not cause cough.

One of the main side effects of ACE inhibitors is dry irritating cough. What you can do is consul your physician who prescribed you ace inhibitors and explain him about your problem. He will change the medication.
