Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why Am I Getting Heart Palpitations After Taking Bisoprolol And Aspirin?
I have been diagnosed with A fib in the last month, but have been experiencing symptoms for the past six months. Presently , I am on 325 mg. aspirin as well as 5mg Bisoprolol , and I am a 63 year old female with no previous health difficulties. On a nightly basis I have been experiencing slight palpitations on a regular basis and about the same time...early to late evening. Should I get on touch with my doctor, or is this my body adjusting to the meds?
The palpitations happening late at night time might be due to stress and anxiety but might be due to A fib as well so to make sure it might be good to talk to your doctor and have an ECG to see if A fib is under control (reversed).
Sometimes combination of drugs might be needed if one drug is not helping enough to control A fib. If the ECG comes out normal it means A fib is under control and in this case very likely the symptoms are due to anxiety.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
