Why Am I Having Pain On The Right Side Of My Head While Shaking?

I have a headache on the right side of my head and hurts if i shake my head, is this a migraine or something else?
I think I've been suffering from a viral infection for the last week and a half as I've had vertigo and still feel dizzy and also coughing up green mucus.

Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms do not seem to be related to migraine.

A sinus infection could be related to your symptoms, especially the green mucus and dizziness.

I recommend consulting with your doctor for a careful physical exam and some tests:

- a sinus X ray study or a brain CT scan to examine your sinuses
- a sinus discharge bacterial culture to identy the possible infectious agent
- a blood work (complete blood count, PCR, sedimentation rate)

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Best wishes,
Dr. Aida
