Why Am I Having Severe Headache Along With Sore Joints And Neck?

I've had an intense headache since Friday along front of forehead behind ears to right at the base of my head , an extremely sore neck and sore joints. I've woke up this morning and the joint pain is even worse but I've also discovered a rash all over my body. I was in a car accident on Fri, could it be related. The rash makes me think it couldnt be related.

Hello!

Welcome and thank you for asking on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to an infection. The rash all over the body and the joint pain, may be related to a viral infection. It is true that it doesn't seem to be related to the accident.

I recommend going to the ER for a careful physical exam and some tests:
-lab blood tests (complete blood count, inflammation tests, blood electrolytes, kidney and liver function tests).

Did you have a head trauma during the accident? Did you have a running nose during these days?

In such case, a brain CT scan would be necessary.

Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards,
Dr. Aida
