Why Am I Lightheaded Dizzy After Eating?
Why am I lightheaded dizzy after eating but I checked mu sugar it's 142 one hr after and 77 two hrs. after? I am anemic too but has been taking iron supplements since May 21, 2006. I was diagnosed with diabetes last month with 138 fasting and 164 glucose tolerance test. Doctor did not give me meds. I did walking at least one hour every day since I was diagnosed. My doctor said maybe my body is still adjusting because of the iron supplements I am taking and that my body was used to having low red blood cells. I also lost 20 lbs since I was diagnosed with diabetes. I lost weight because I was walking and watching what I am eating.

Your sugars are under control. Do mention the medications which you are on as there is a lot of difference in the readings taken after 1 hour and 2 hours.

You are anemic whats recent blood HB level. You are feeling dizzy after intake of food because of anemia. the reason is after food majority of blood shunts to GI(stomach and intestine) tract to carry digested food. As you are anemic less there is less blood in circulation, available blood goes to your stomach and less blood goes to your brain and you will feel dizzy,\.
my advise is
1. Get evaluated for low Hb..
2. find out is there loss of blood through stools
3. Consult physician and find out cause for anemia and get treated
4. Iron supplements will not be sufficient if there is very low Hb level at this condition better to go for blood transfusion
5. consult your family physician
Another thing is
1.Dont eat heavy meals at a time instead eat small meals more frequently.
2.Avoid walk immediately after food better you take rest after meals
