OBGYN 's  Response
Hi,
The causes could be several ranging from weight disturbances, hormonal imbalances, genetic predisposition related to age, local lesions like polyps or endometritis etc., but, the basic reason is a thickened endometrium which sheds for a longer time. To know the exact reason, you should see a gynecologist and get a complete evaluation including a clinical exam, trans-vaginal sonogram, hormonal profile, blood counts and urinalysis. Please maintain a healthy diet and a healthy weight. Take care.
