Hi, I have had perfect periods for years. 3-4 days and could basically wear one tampon all day. About a year ago, it started to get heavy for 2 days or so and lasting a little longer. Heavy as in an Ultra tampon for one hour sometimes. What s happening?
Hi, The causes could be several ranging from weight disturbances, hormonal imbalances, genetic predisposition related to age, local lesions like polyps or endometritis etc., but, the basic reason is a thickened endometrium which sheds for a longer time. To know the exact reason, you should see a gynecologist and get a complete evaluation including a clinical exam, trans-vaginal sonogram, hormonal profile, blood counts and urinalysis. Please maintain a healthy diet and a healthy weight. Take care.
