Every member of my family, I think, has had diabetes -- onset, Type II. I am checked twice a year. My doctor was also my mother s, prior to her death. In the last two months, I have begun to urinate excessively. I do drink a lot, due to previous battles with blatter infections. However, this is new. I do not smoke. I have lost over 60 pounds in the last 1 1/2 years, but I still need to lose 25 pounds to be at an optimal weight for my height and age. I do water aerobics at least twice a week, an hour each time. I do not have any of the diseases my parents either were dead of, at my age, or were fighting at my age, including breast, lung, colon cancer. Both also had diabetes and heart issues (different kinds). I just returned from overseas -- healthy countries and I did not eat or drink while on land. I sprained my ankle, now three weeks ago. My ankles are swelling daily, to some extent. I walked miles overseas -- maybe not literally, but in my mind. The swelling of my ankles often occurs when I travel and I have been in the air almost as much as on the ground since March 1. I wrote that off to the travel. My bi-annual checkup is a couple of months off. Trying to decide if this is worth calling my doctor s nurse.
