General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Since, you are 83 years old the gastrointestinal and urinary system can show some physiological as well as pathological changes.

Since your problems are present for the last 10 months as you have mentioned the possibility of cancer has TI be ruled out.

This is done by the following ways:
- Consult a general Surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination.
- Tests of urine and stool.
- Tests of blood particularly for tumor markers.
- Colonoscopy and CT Scan of abdomen can help to get a possible cause.

Till then, take laxatives and stool softeners to clear bowels.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant
