Why Are My Energy Levels Down?

I ve had wysolone 20 mg, fr three weeks..dn ten mg fr one week..dn 5mg fr another one week...as n treatment fr alopeacia areata..hair patch problem..nw hve stopd to nil..continuing wth topsor lotion steriod still to b applied twice a day.. N sum steriod injections on d scalp after every three weeks as per needed...though recovering...bt growth is slow...so oral have to b continued...nw in d last week I m feeling very bloated n sudden weight gain..negative feeling...depressive..n evn my dark circles seems worsened...nw vat steps should I take to get bak to my usual self...I m already toting to gym..as per my energy levels although nwdayzz I m feeling energy levels hve also dropped down...I m forty two years female..plz advice

Dear thanks for the question.

I share your concerns as you had to take steroids for disease and now facing side effects due to those. Condition can improve if you can avoid steroids. If I were your treating doctor I would have advised you to avoid oral medicines as these side effects will not be there with local applications or injection at the site of alopecia. I would still advise you to have patience with recovery to avoid the side effects, it will take hardly one to two months extra.it is always better to have smoother recovery even if it is delayed.

You need to discuss with your doctor about this approach and follow his advise strictly as steroid withdrawal also requires supervision.
