Why Did I Suffer From Bloody Diarrhea And Stomach Cramping After Heavy Meals?
Last night I ate a huge meal of roast potatoes, pork chop, asparagus and mayo with mushrooms and onions. It was so much I felt uncomfortable. A couple of hours later I got sharp pains in lower abdomen , at first couldn't go to the bathroom then when did diarreah followed. Nauseated , cold sweat. Pain continued, throwing up and bloody diarreah every half hour. Now occasional cramping but scared to eat anything or go to he bathroom
Acute symptoms of abdominal pain, diarrhoea , nausea and vomiting are usually related to gastroenteritis. This is infection of the gastrointestinal tract usually by a virus or bacteria.
It can also occur, though not as severely as you are describing, as a result of food intolerance.
Gastroenteritis is self limited. It is important , during the course , to maintain your hydration, this means use enough fluid to prevent dehydration.
Hold off solid food for at least 4 to 6 hours. You can restart if there is a prolonged period with no symptoms. The use of probiotics , either on its own or in yogurt may help.
There are agents available that can help with your nausea and vomiting but it is best not to use anything to stop the diarrhoea.
I hope this helps
