Why Do I Get Burning And Itching Bumps Near My Genitals?

Hi, ok so I want to know or get an idea of what this might be... About a month and a half ago i got a small bumps on top the clitoris. It started with one and then got about 3 or 4 (just in that area) they where skin colored, and seemed to be filled with water (clear liquid). I felt discomfort a bit of itching and burning (only in that area). About a day or 2 later they poped on their own and went away. Again i got them, this time on the labia I feel slight burning and more itching than last time... Should I be worried? Im sexually active with my partner of 9 months

Hi there.
Yes you should be concerned & this does appear to me to be an issue of a viral infection called Herpes Simplex.
Please get a blood test done for Herpes Simplex type1 & 2 both IgG & IgM. This will tell you if indeed i am correct; if the viral infection is recent or old; also will tell you what titre.
The treatment will depend on various factors & both partners' have to be treated.
Have there been other partners' in the past & or random partners that you have shared sexual experiences with?
The treatment will be with antivirals of choice depending on your venereologist's experience & cost factors , side effects etc. I personally prefer the tried & tested Acyclovir compound & it can be given in an oral form or as a cream; If a 48 hr period has elapsed, best go with the cream
You may feel free to discuss this further in a private forum on this HCM site or come across to visit me in the clinic or any venereologist close to you using this HCM site to source the person.
Please do practice safe sex & use a condom &/or practice monogamy.
Good Luck & Have safe sexual experiences.
