Why Do I Get Up With A Stiff Shoulder, Back And Chest Along With Discomfort In Collar Bone?
Hi I have had a spazm muscle a next to my left scapular for over 3 months have had numerous Physio and chiro treatments with no positive results. I've had an MRI and cortisone injection into my left shoulder joint as they stated this is the cause. Yet 2 weeks later and with deep tissue massaging every day still I wake up every morning with my shoulder , back and chest stiff. I find a lot of discomfort in my collar bone aswell. Can any one tell me what is wrong as evey doctor tells me it is shoulder problems but nothing that is being done is helping
HI. I would advise you to check your blood sugar levels , if not done yet. And MRI of the cervical spine as the original problem can be in the cervical disc causing root compression and the problems of the muscles all around as you have stated. Many time a simple sling made at home by a triangular big scarf can help. What you have to do is elevate the affected shoulder with support of your apposite hand. Get a help from someone to pass the sling from behind the neck to support the elbow ( not the forearm) and pass it along the chest to be tied to the opposite side of the neck . Ask to tighten enough so that the elbow comes to a normal position but the sling should carry all the weight of your affected upper limb to the opposite part of neck. See the immediate relief.
