Why Do I Have Blood In My Stool?

Occasionnaly, I have mucus with tiny blood amounts in it. I have been diagnosed at age 30 with IBS (I am now 40) after blood tests and colonoscopy. Typically, I have some amount on mucus in stool. Blood only occurs, I have noticed, after consuming spicy food.
Should I be worried?

Dear friend,
The problem you facing is IBS. Mucous discharge may seen frequently in IBS. And you have bloody episode after spicy food then you should control diet. But blood is continue even after diet control then its a thing to be worried. As acute episode may present with sever bloody diarrhoea. And it needs a prompt treatment.

Get well soon.
