Why Do I Sweat Profusely After Taking Lortab?

I have been taking 1/2 of 7.5 Lortab twice a day for a severe back injury for 3 years. I am supposed to take more but never do and never will. The problem is approx. 45 minutes after taking I begin to sweat profusely. Doctor has no explaination for this but it is driving me crazy!

Hi,

Lortab is a combination of an opioid, hydrocodone and acetaminophen. Hydrocode is one of the drugs which makes you sweat. Profuse sweating is one of the side effects of the drug. It is caused by activating the mast cells which in turn releases histamine that makes you sweat. Ask your doctor for other analgesics for your pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
