Why Does Blood Appear In The Urine?

Hi I have a question. When I have to pee I noticed that when I wipe blood is on the tissue. Nothing hurts and I do have a history of trying to hold my urine when I have to pee because I think I may have a weak bladder. I don t drink water regularly. This has never happened and I m wondering what could be the cause. Your insight would really be great of help.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to a urinary tract infection or kidney stones.

I suggest doing an abdominal ultrasound and a urine test to confirm the diagnosis.

Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.

I also suggest drinking liquids and especially cranberry juice.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
